February 2025 Prayer Diary

SAT 1  Tomorrow  the church celebrates the Presentation of Christ in the Temple and Candlemas.  So as we today present our lives to God in his service, let us pray that we may shine out to the world as worthy of our dedication and his light in our hearts.

SUN 2 Heavenly Father, we bring before you the young people in our church at Family Service, and pray that the worship and Sunday Club teaching may help them to know and love you better.

MON 3  Loving Lord, we bring before you all whom we know who are ill, that they might know your healing touch.  We also pray for their families and friends in their love and concern for those they care for.

TUES 4  Father, hear the prayer we offer:/not for ease that prayer shall be/but for strength that we may ever/live our lives courageously….Be our strength in hours of weakness;/in our wanderings , be our guide;/through endeavour, failure, danger, /Father, be thou at our side.

WED 5  Let us pray for the Eco-Church meeting this evening and our attempts as Christians to honour and nurture our environment.

THURS 6  O God, we give thanks for the sacrament of Holy Eucharist, and pray that you will bless all who attend today’s service at St . Mary’s and sustain them in the week ahead.

FRID 7  Almighty God, we give you thanks for our church buildings , and we pray that you will guide and bless all who are working so hard to keep them in good order.

SAT 8  Lord, we pray for your blessing to rest on all who live along Greenfields in Fron.

SUN 9   Racial Justice Sunday  Almighty God, we bring before you all who are victims of racial injustice and prejudice; we pray that the people of the world might learn to live and work together in harmony, accepting and valuing differences in race, colour and creed for we are all your children. 

MON 10  Heavenly Father, help us not to take our senses for granted as they enable us to relate fully to your world and the people within it; be with all who are losing their sight or are blind as they cope with a darkened world and more restricted life: may they be granted the support they need. Bless all organisations which work to give them help.

TUES 11 Let us pray for a successful Mini Market today, and thank God for those who run the scheme so effectively.

WED 12  Thank you, O God , for our local police force: please help them in their important work in supporting the community.

THURS 13  Lord, we bring before you the young people in our area, and pray that they will receive the encouragement and support they might need.

FRID 14  On this St. Valentine’s Day, God of Love, we commit to you all who are in unhappy relationships; those who are in the process of divorce; all who long for love in their lives but cannot find it, and for those who are considered unlovable. May they receive the support and fellowship they need, and come to the knowledge of your love for them.

SAT 15  What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. Psalm 56.3

SUN 16  Almighty God, we pray for our vicar and curate, that they might know the inspiration and strength of your Holy Spirit in their work and witness.

MON 17  Let us give thanks for the farmers and their workers in our area, and ask God our Creator to bless them and their vital work.

TUES 18  Lord, we pray for the schools in our area and for the well-being of staff and pupils.  We ask that you will guide our churches in our links with these schools.

WED 19  Loving Lord God, we commit to you any families or individuals who might be thinking of baptism or confirmation this year; please guide them, we pray , in their journey of faith.

THURS 20  We give thanks, O God, for the Secretaries of our churches, and ask you to grant them the energy  and time they need for their vital work.

FRID 21  Thank you, Lord, for all who work in Chirk Library; may they know your blessing on them and on the valuable contribution they make to the community.

SAT 22  As Spring gets under way, let us give thanks for the beauty of our environment, and ask for God’s guidance in the way we care for it and for the areas round our churches.

SUN 23   Heavenly Father, thank you for those in our churches who giving of their time and energy, organise and help with the refreshments after services and at events. Please bless them in all they do.

MON 24  O Lord God, may your rich blessing rest on all who live in Richmond Gardens, Chirk.

TUES 25  O Lord, we pray for all who act as carers to members of their families or to friends: grant them the emotional and physical strength they need in their tiring and demanding lives, so that they might know your love and strength upholding them.

WED 26  Accustom yourself to the wonderful thought that God loves you with a tenderness, a generosity and an intimacy which surpasses all our dreams.  Give yourself up with joy to a loving confidence of God, and have the courage to believe firmly that God’s action towards you is a masterpiece of partiality and love….Rejoice that you are what you are; for our Lord loves you very dearly.  He loves the whole of you, just as you are.  Abbe de Tourville

THURS 27  Thank you, Lord God, for our local hospitals; please guide and bless the staff whether medical or not, so that they can offer the best care to their patients.

FRID 28  Lord, we give thanks and pray for the members of our Town and County Councils that they might make the right decisions for their communities.
