Handbells a Ringing Success at the Castle’s Christmas of Make-Believe

The St Mary’s Handbell team proved very popular at Chirk Castle’s Christmas of Make-Believe event today. Beverley and her ringing team entertained the visitors with a selection of Christmas carols. Interestingly, they played their refurbished bells at the top of the Grand Staircase, where in the 1920s, the same handbells had been used to ring out tunes at Christmas. The team will be performing again at the castle next Sunday (22nd), at 1pm and 2pm – it really is worth a trip up to the castle to listen!
