Prayer Diary September 2025

MON 1 As the church enters the Creation Season, let us give God
our Creator thanks for the beauty and richness of our world, and
ask Him to help us as church members and individuals in guiding us
in our relation with it. Let us also pray for the organisations which
care for our country’s flora and fauna.
TUES 2 O Lord God, we ask for your blessing on our vicar and
curate and other ministers who lead our services and help with the
life of our churches. Please grant them the vision, energy and
support they need.
WED 3 As the summer season draws to a close, let us pray for all
who work at Chirk Castle in the grounds and in the castle itself, and
for the volunteers who help out.
THURS 4 Lord, we ask for your blessing on all who live in George
Street, Chirk.
FRID 5 Amazing grace! How sweet the sound/that saved a
wretch like me./I once was lost , but now am found;/was blind
but now I see. Through many dangers, toils and snares/I have
already come./’Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,/and
grace will lead me home.
SAT 6 O Lord God, we give thanks for our church members who
take responsibility for the care of our buildings, their maintenance,
upkeep and cleaning. Grant them the wisdom, time and help they
need in their important work.
SUN 7 Heavenly Father, we pray for the families who attend our
churches, and also for those who lead our Family Services and
Sunday Club and so help the young people and congregations to
grow in faith.
MON 8 Thank you, O God, for the hard-working secretaries of our
Church Committees: may they know your blessing .
TUES 9 O God, we commit to you the staff and pupils of our local
schools as they launch into a new school year. We pray especially
for those new to their school, and ask that they might settle in well.
We pray for a happy and successful term.
WED 10 Lord of all power and justice, we give thanks for our local
police: please guide and bless them in their work as they help our
communities to function happily.
THURS 11 Heavenly Father, we bring before you all attending this
morning’s Holy Eucharist at St. Mary’s, that they might find peace,
joy and strength through this time of worship.
FRID 12 O Lord, you have searched me out and known me; you
know my sitting down and my rising up; you discern my
thoughts from afar. You mark out my journeys and my
resting place and are acquainted with all my ways. For there is
not a word on my tongue, but you, O Lord, know it altogether.

SAT 13 O Lord God, we pray for St. David’s Fair in Fron today and
ask that it will be a successful and happy event. Thank you for the
team and their hard work and enthusiasm.
SUN 14 On this Education Sunday, Lord, we pray for all involved in
teaching people about Christianity – in our churches, schools and
though Christian organisations and charities. Guide and encourage
them in all they do; may we all realise that we can never stop
learning more about you and our faith.
MON 15 O God, we pray for your blessing on all who live along
Bourne Terrace in Fron.
TUES 16 Heavenly Father, we pray for the staff and patients of
Chirk Community hospital and other local hospitals and ask that
your Holy Spirit will rest upon these places and empower all who
carry out your healing work .
WED 17 O Lord, we pray for St. Mary’s Toddlers’ Group, and a for a
happy and successful term, giving thanks for the team and their
loving skill and dedication.
THURS 18 Thank you, Lord God, for the work of Chirk Court. We
ask for your blessing on the staff there and the residents, and pray
that this afternoon’s service, led by St. Mary’s, will be a help to all
who attend. Guide our churches as we seek more ways of helping
there.
FRID 19 Thank you, Lord, that the churches in Chirk work well
together. We pray for them all today in their worship and mission.
SAT 20 Tomorrow is designated as the International Day of Peace,
so let us now pray for peace in our troubled world, for leaders to
consider the many victims of their power struggles and for everyone
to look at the issues involved thoughtfully and without bigotry. Let
us also commit to God all who work for peace, justice and mercy.
SUN 21 ST. MATTHEW O Lord God, as we remember the story of
Matthew and his willingness to change his whole way of life and
follow Jesus, may we be ready to respond to Him when called and
do whatever is needed in His service. Please be with all who are
feeling called to ministry and guide them in their journey of faith
MON 22 Let us pray for the young people in our area and for their
well-being.
TUES 23 It is not what you are nor what you have been that God
sees with his all-merciful eyes, but what you desire to be.

WED 24 Let us pray that St. David’s Church Committee meeting
today will prove a fruitful session and enable church members to go
ahead with confidence.
THURS 25 O Lord Almighty, we pray for the churches of the Offa
Mission Area , their ministers and congregations, and ask that the
Area will be guided in its plans for the future. Please bless the new
Mission Area Leader, the Revd. Canon Rex Matthias.
FRID 26 Thank you, O Lord, for all who work so hard to keep our
churchyards tidy and attractive: please bless them and their valuable
work.
SAT 27 Let us give thanks for all who work so hard to raise funds
for the upkeep and mission of our churches, and ask God to grant
them the time, energy and ideas they need.
SUN 28 Thank you, Lord God, for the church members who help
administer the chalice at Communion: we ask that you will bless
them in their ministry.
MON 29 Let us pray for all who work for the industries and firms in
Chirk.
TUES 30 Loving Lord, we pray for all who have been recently
bereaved and all who still, after long years, mourn the loss of loved
ones . Please bless the work of our local funeral directors as they
offer support to their clients.
