Greetings for the third Sunday of Lent, 2026
Dear Friends,
One thing I’ve always appreciated about adulthood is that I no longer have to sit exams. I used to find them incredibly stressful.
Yet our Gospel reading this week takes me straight back to my second year at theological college.
I can still picture myself in that end‑of‑year exam, translating from Greek the story of Jesus’ encounter with the Samaritan woman at the well.
It was a joy to study that passage so closely and in such a special way.
Twenty years on, my Greek has sadly faded—but the extraordinary meeting between Jesus and the Samaritan woman remains right at the heart of my faith.
With every blessing,
Matt
